Alpha Kappa Alpha is a collegiate Greek-letter sorority, having been founded on January 15, 1908, at Howard University in Washington, DC. It is the oldest sorority established and incorporated by African-American college women. The sorority is a founding member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Alpha Kappa Alpha has over 283,000 members with 992 undergraduate and alumni chapters in the United States, and internationally.
